Vineyard Notes
The Red Mountain American Viticultural Area (AVA) is a 4,600 acre federally designated grape growing and wine-producing region on a south facing slope near Benton, WA. Red Mt. AVA is bounded by the Yakima River Terrace to the west, the ridgeline of Red Mt. on the northeast and the lowlands bordered by Interstate 82 on the southeast. The topography, soils and solar aspect have combined to make Red Mt. a special place to grow grapes, drawing international attention. Red Mt. wine grapes have outstanding character and flavor, and the red wines produced from them are consistently highly rated.
Winemaker Notes
Made from our best barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon, this special reserve wine is named for Kix Brooks, the eleventh bottling of this series, made from the 2017 vintage. Dense, rich and age-worthy, this full-bodied Cabernet is Kix’s favorite!
