Aromas of boysenberry and allspice are followed by flavors of black cherry, plum and vanilla oak.
Double Gold – 2016 Indy International
The Santa Ynez grapes came from vines that are uniquely trained by master-grower Louis Lucas to a double cross-arm split canopy trellis that is cane pruned. The rows are planted in an east-west row direction to most effectively capture the sunshine there. The Yakima Valley grapes came from vineyards near Sunnyside, WA, trained to vertical shoot position trellis (like AV’s vineyards) and oriented in north-south rows to evenly capture sunlight and ripen the grapes at that latitude.
Made from grapes grown in two distinct regions - the Santa Ynez Valley in southern California and the Yakima Valley in central Washington – this wine blends the best of both sources for a rich, full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon experience. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels. This classic Cabernet can be cellared for another 5 years, but was made to be enjoyed now through 2020.
Pairs well with game, ribeye, roasted meats, beef stew, rack of lamb, tuna, black olives and bittersweet chocolate.
